Agree what the first release must do
Describe the smallest complete customer journey, from opening the app to finishing its core task. Separate essential features from later additions. Confirm supported devices, languages and network conditions. A feature list does not reveal whether a user can recover from a failed login, cancelled action or interrupted upload; those states belong in the scope.
Keep store and backend ownership clear
The business should understand who controls developer accounts, signing arrangements, backend hosting, push messaging and analytics. Record access and renewal responsibilities. If a supplier manages these on your behalf, agree the handover procedure. Store submission is a dependency with review requirements, so avoid promising a launch date based only on the date coding ends.
Test real devices and real interruptions
Check small screens, permissions, poor connectivity, app backgrounding and a return after several days. Verify that repeated taps do not create duplicate orders or enquiries. Test account recovery and session expiry with the backend. Use realistic but non-sensitive test data and have the business owner approve the critical workflows.
Align disclosures with actual behaviour
List the information collected by the app and its included SDKs. Prepare accurate privacy information, permission explanations and store declarations. Check current Apple and Google requirements for the specific app category before submission. A privacy statement copied from another application may describe a different data flow and create unnecessary review problems.
Plan for the week after release
Assign owners for crash reports, support messages, backend monitoring and urgent fixes. Keep a release record and a way to identify which version a customer is using. Decide how an unavailable service is communicated inside the app. A successful store approval is a distribution milestone; the business still needs an operating and maintenance plan.
