Evaluate detection, alerts and operator response with footage from the site you need to protect.
Describe one useful detection scenario
Choose a specific requirement such as detecting activity in a defined area or recognising a vehicle plate at an entrance. Explain what an alert should prompt the operator to do. AI video analytics, ANPR and identity-based recognition are different use cases with different data implications. Do not begin by enabling every available function; begin with the decision that the business needs to make.
Test under normal and difficult conditions
Use an authorised trial at the intended location. Include lighting changes, reflective surfaces, obstructions and normal movement. For vehicle-related analytics, inspect the actual approach path and the image obtained at the agreed point. Record missed events and false alerts. A vendor demonstration from another site is useful background, but it does not establish performance in your entrance or warehouse.
Design the response and review process
Name the people who receive alerts and the working hours in which they will respond. Define how they verify an event and what action is permitted. Avoid turning an unconfirmed detection into an automatic personnel or security decision. Document access to analytics data and the retention purpose with the responsible business owners. Human review should remain available when the event is unclear.
Include compatibility and change control
Check the camera, recorder, licence and network dependencies in the proposal. Determine whether analytics run on the device, recorder or another platform. Record what happens when a component is offline. Review settings after a site layout change and include maintenance of the analytics configuration in the support scope. Acceptance should use your agreed scenarios rather than a broad claim that the system is intelligent.
