Different premises need different access, availability and privacy decisions. Start with their working requirements.
Clinics: separate clinical ownership from IT operation
Map scheduling, billing, clinical applications and connected equipment with the responsible business and clinical owners. Identify which systems are essential during an outage and who approves recovery. Keep staff access aligned with their roles. Relevant health information requirements need review against the current authority standard, including ADHICS where applicable. An IT proposal should identify technical scope and responsibilities without claiming that installation alone establishes regulatory approval.
Warehouses: design for working conditions
Survey rack layouts, moving equipment, loading areas and changing stock positions. Test Wi-Fi coverage through the routes where scanners are actually used. Map cameras and door access around the agreed operating requirement, with privacy and approval responsibilities recorded. Identify network and power dependencies for dispatch and receiving. Agree what happens when connectivity is interrupted and how offline transactions are reconciled before normal operation resumes.
Family offices: control sensitive business information
Identify sensitive documents, financial systems and external advisers who require access. Review separate workspaces, administrator permissions and the process for approving a new external user. Use tested backup and recovery arrangements with a named decision maker. Include staff onboarding, departures and delegated access in the scope. Confidentiality requires consistent operating practices as well as security products; verify that ordinary users can perform their work without excessive permissions.
Villas: plan devices, privacy and ongoing support
Document camera coverage, visitor access, internet use and any equipment already supplied by another installer. Clarify which areas should remain private and who may view recordings. Review outdoor conditions, secure remote access and the process for removing old accounts. Coordinate access and emergency behaviour with the responsible parties. Distinguish supported ELV and network work from specialist building automation or electrical work that needs a separately qualified provider.
